Google has finally unveiled brand pages for Google+ and JDM’s got one! So far, pretty cool, but will it cast a wide enough shadow over Facebook’s 750 million active users and get them to convert?
[quotes]“So far Google+ has focused on connecting people with other people,” Google SVP of Social Vic Gundotra said on their company blog. “But we want to make sure you can build relationships with all the things you care about—from local businesses to global brands—so today we’re rolling out Google+ Pages worldwide.”[/quotes]
The setup process is about as simply as you can believe, however it is a little disappointing looking once you’re all done and it’s every bit as confining as a Facebook page. From the point of view of the casual Google+ user, the move may feel a little too much like shameless promotions are ‘a coming and perhaps their right. To businesses and digital agencies, it feels like ABOUT TIME!
