The number 1 rule in marketing is NEVER make it hard to do business with you. To practice what we preach, JDM offers three simple engagement structures: an hours-based retainer, a debit retainer and the good ol’ flat-rate project.
Our hours-based retainers work a little like your cellphone plan. We come up with a scope of work, the number of billable hours per month clients will need, a discounted price-per-hour and a contract term that makes sense. Then, we do the math and come up with a monthly contract for $X which buys Y hours per month.
Unused hours roll-over to the next month. If we run out of hours in a given month, they may either be purchased at the regular rate, or borrowed from up to one month in the future. Simple enough.
Since we DO NOT offer project work on an ongoing basis, one of our retainer models are a must. Our hours-based retainer is designed for clients who have ongoing, foreseeable marketing needs. Let’s dig in.
Our debit retainers work much like your TollTag. We ask for a deposit of whatever makes sense, then we simply deduct from that deposit based on an hourly rate. Once the account gets to its minimum, you’ll receive a notice to either deposit more or cancel and we’ll refund the balance.
Since we DO NOT offer flat-rate project work on an ongoing basis, one of our retainer models are a must. The debit retainer is just designed for those clients who don’t yet know what their future marketing needs will be – but they know they’ll certainly have needs in the future. Get all the dirty details.
Sometimes you just want to get your feet wet with a new digital agency or your needs have a very discrete beginning and end – or the word “Retainer” makes your palms a little sweaty. We get it. JDM offers a project-based structure where we develop a Talking proposal, agree on a very specific scope, and provide a flat-rate project price – usually on 50/50 payment terms.
JDM DOES NOT offer flat-rate project work for ongoing needs, but it’s a good starting point for a new client.

JDM is very process-driven. Our process starts with Discovery and that’s about where the similarities with other agencies ends. I know words like “process” sound like made up marketing lingo, but this stuff matters. See what we mean.
