Website Tech Decision-graphic
There are so many CMS website technologies for clients to choose from these days it can feel a bit like a shell game. As a digital agency, we have the discussion on which one is right for clients all the time. Truth is, it’s a pretty simple formula. Check out our “Decision-graphic.”
Click the following ‘Decision-graphic’ to open it up into a larger lightbox and follow the process chart (starting at the top left).
You’re welcome to use our Web Tech Decision-graphic yourself as long as you don’t change it in any way. To embed it in your website or blog, copy & paste the following: <img src=”http://jdm-digital.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Guide2Website-sm.png” alt=”Web Tech Decision-graphic” /> .
Admittedly, we’ve focused the decision-graphic on only non-eCommerce open-source CMS solutions, calling out the big three (WordPress, Drupal and Joomla). There are, of course, hundreds more. If you could still use a little direction, contact JDM. We’re always happy to discuss nerdy things like web tech.

That’s a valuable graphic, but it’s pretty hideous.
Only about a year ago, infographics were the darlings of the Web – favored by marketers, designers and content consumers alike. Today, however, you will see quite a bit of blogging and commenting from people calling for a virtual cease-fire: “Please, no more infographics!”
Consider spending a little more time in design so you’re arrive at an infographic that looks more like one of these.
Agreed. I’ll let the Studios team do the design from now on.
I’ll stick to strategy…and paying the bills.
The graphic ask great questions like budget, existing technology, and habits. However, it doesn’t ask about development timetables.
Some CMS roll out quickly. Some do not.
Yes, and… ;)
It depends a lot more on the SOW than the exact type of CMS when you’re talking about roll-out time tables.
