GoToMeeting Goes Mobile
GoToMeeting from Citrix is their flagship web-meeting service that allows unlimited online meetings for up to 15 people for about $50/month. Recently, GoToMeeting has gone mobile publishing two mobile apps (one for Android and one for Apple’s iOS for iPhone). What do the nerds at JDM think? Read on.
GoToMeeting is [tooltip content='SaaS Stands for Software As A Service' url='' ]SaaS[/tooltip] that allows you to host an online meeting with up to 15 people. Through the desktop tool, you can share any application on your computer and collaborate in real time. Attendees (with or without accounts) can join the meeting in seconds.
GoToMeeting Mobile App Review
Unfortunately, the GoToMeeting mobile apps are not quite fully fleshed out. You can’t share your screen or use their other services (such as GoToWebinar) but you can attend online meetings via your Android or iPhone – very handy for the exectuive on the go. As with the desktop version, you don’t have to have a GoToMeeting account to attend – only to host the online meeting. Also a big problem with the mobile app (though not the fault of GoToMeeting) is that certain cellphone providers won’t allow simultaneous data and voice sharing (CDMA). So all those AT&T users out there can rest assured there really is value to [tooltip content='simultaneous data and voice sharing' url='' ]CDMA[/tooltip].
Since choosing GoToMeeting, JDM’s been very happy with them, though the difference between GoToMeeting and WebEx continues to narrow. With the launch of these new mobile apps, we’re excited to remain loyal GoToMeeting customers.

Excellent app, I was searching for a way to use gotomeeting in Linux Ubuntu, found there was no support for this OS then knew about the android version and works like a charm! this was the only thing tying me back to Windows.
Only complain about the app, it does not display the pointer at remote computer, is quite hard (as developer) to follow conversations when somebody is trying to show you where the error is, if I could change it I would set a light indicating where the pointer is in the screen and make the screen (as zoomed) could move along the pointer.
So you can attend a GoToMeeting, but not host one?!
I think they missed the boat. They could have integrated it more fully so users could use it to host everything from screen sharing (even on the small screen) to easy (and free) conference calling.
Maybe in the next GTM App release, but I doubt it.
Quick update: The meeting organizer must be using GoToMeeting v4.8 or higher for attendees to join meetings from mobile devices. If the organizer is using an older version of GoToMeeting, you won’t be able to use the GoToMeeting app; instead, you must join the meeting from a PC or Mac.
